Claire Hughes (pictured above) has joined us as our new private patient care co-ordinator and Clare Foody is our new Folkestone branch manager.
As private patient care co-ordinator Claire’s daily tasks include answering incoming calls from private patients, booking appointments and sending lists to confirm which patients are scheduled into the different clinics each day.
She also makes outbound calls to patients 24 hours in advance to confirm their appointments and to check whether they are still able to attend.
“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my first week with Hearbase and have been made to feel very welcome by the team,” she said. “Although there is a great deal to learn, I am getting there.”
Diabetes UK challenge
Before joining us Claire worked in the private medical insurance industry, both UK and international, for more than 14 years, progressing from a claims assessor to a team leader and finally an operations manager.
Claire lives in Hythe with her long-term partner Shaun. They enjoy long walks along Hythe canal and beach and last year Claire completed the One Million Steps challenge in aid of Diabetes UK. “More recently, I have discovered that I’m not too bad a cook so enjoy trying out new recipes,” she said.
Our new Folkestone branch manager Clare has lived in Folkestone for four years and used to work for Church & Dwight, which deals with many products, including Arm & Hammer and Pearl Drops. Clare was office manager at its research and development base in Park Farm Road, Folkestone.
“This dealt with the chemists, the lab, suppliers and the directors plus all admin duties,” said Clare. “I looked after the welfare of the staff at work or at home and it was very varied, so I had a lot of different hats.”
As our Folkestone branch manager Clare’s main role will be co-ordinating our south Kent private hospital audiology services.
She is used to working under pressure and said: “For 18 years I worked for the police, firstly as a 999 operator at Scotland Yard before moving onto police control rooms. I am used to stressful situations and dealing with all sorts of customers, upset, angry or those who just want help or to talk.”
She and her partner are hoping to move soon so they can get a puppy.
